Women's Sports School Programs
Find YOUR Place in the Baseball Front Office! | March 22 & 29, 2021
As the baseball season begins and you're wondering how you could be working there... the Women's Sports School can help! Our spring offering is this first in a series of educational workshops designed to sharpen your tools for the job search. In this two-part seminar, you will learn WHAT a 2021 Baseball Operations Department looks like and HOW it works, and WHY and HOW you can find your place within it.
Meet our presenter, Tom Allison.

Tom Allison is our presenter for "Find YOUR Place." Tom Allison boasts a 30-year career in professional baseball, beginning with his 1990 draft and signing by the New York Mets as an infielder in 1990. Recently hired by the Los Angeles Dodgers as a Special Assignment Scout, Tom spent the previous eight years as the Professional Scouting Director and V.P. of Player Personnel and Scouting for the Seattle Mariners.
He also served as the Midwest Regional Crosschecker in the Amateur Scouting Department of the Boston Red Sox in 2011-12, and prior to that he spent four years as Director of Scouting for the Arizona Diamondbacks (2007-10). There, he oversaw several top draft classes, including the 2009 draft that was tabbed by Baseball America and ESPN.com as the No. 1 draft in MLB.
His extensive scouting background also includes seven seasons as a Scouting Crosschecker for the Milwaukee Brewers (2000-06), and 10 years in the New York Mets organization as an Area Scouting Supervisor (1996-99) and Assistant Scouting Director (1995-96), Player Development coach and Milb player (1990-1994).
