Scouting Baseball!
In October, 2019, the Women's Sports School presented its inaugural program "Scouting Baseball!" to introduce women to the basics of baseball scouting. A group of women, comprised of diverse experiences and interest in the game of baseball converged on Arizona for four days of intensive instruction and practice in player evaluation.
Here's a glimpse at what we were up to during the
Scouting Baseball! 2019 program.
Scouting Baseball! 2019 program.
One of the participants, Katie, had this to say about her experience in Scouting Baseball! 2019:
“I found the WSS [program] to be incredibly informative and an amazing experience regardless of intention of becoming a scout or not. If you want to work for a professional sports team, and in particular an MLB team, this program provides great insight into the baseball operations world - a side of the business that many even working within professional sports aren’t able to experience. In addition to the significant learning aspect, the networking opportunities with other women in the industry and with influential professionals working within the industry, are invaluable.”
